I am a very passionate and energetic man who enjoys furthering my knowledge and expertise in areas of business, science, and world politics and in my down time I enjoy exercising regularly and watching and playing basketball, football, and hockey. I am a very down to earth person who likes to keep things professional but also fun and comical so that my students stay engaged and focused! Although I have only one year of full time Substitute teaching experience at Chicago Public Schools, I bring real world knowledge and expertise with my previous experiences in the private sector as well as my military service in the United States Army Reserve. In January of 2016 I will be pursuing a Masters Degree with certification and professional teaching licensure in the State of Illinois for elementary education. I am only 27 years old, so I have great technological awareness that other teachers may not have. Many students feel more comfortable in a learning environment with a younger professional who can relate to your child's generation and overall learning capabilities. I am also very honest and forthright so if after the first session or two there is not a good connection between us then I will let you know that it might not be a good fit. At that point I would then recommend another tutor who might be better able to reach your child and improve his or her grades and overall academic achievement. Some tutors would just continue the sessions for their own personal gain sadly, but the most important thing in my eyes is that your child succeeds so being fair and honest is my only goal.
